Anteprima Sagrantino 2011 – Perticaia will be there!

anteprima_sagrantinoThe debut of Sagrantino is going to be a special one. One of the most prestigious Controlled designation of origin guaranteed in Italy, the Sagrantino is going to lead for the very first time thegreat national wine-making previews with Anteprima Sagrantino 2011.

On February the 23th and the 24th 2015, during the event organized by Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco, more than 20 member producers will officially present to the press and the professionals, the 2011 vintage of the great Umbrian red winetogheter with the other wine jewels of the territory: Montefalco Rosso DOC 2012, Montefalco Rosso DOC Riserva 2011 

Anteprima Sagrantino, hosted in the Chiostro di Sant’Agostino and in the beautiful Sala Consiliare made available from the district of Montefalco, will be the occasion to tell the freshly harvested vintage and to award the Gran Premio Sagrantino, the scholarship for sommelier set in 2007 by the Consorzio in partnership with Ais, Associazione Italiana Sommelier, to develope the technical knowledge of the wines produced in the Montefalco area.

For the launch of the special 2011 vintage, Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco has promoted the initiative Etichetta d’autore 2011: a contest for young, Italians and foreigners, cartoonists operating through the Italian territory. The winning work, rewarded on february the 24th in Montefalco, will become the celebratory label of the 2011 vintage of the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.

Perticaia towards Carbon Neutral

For this reason and to ensure continuity and growth of the company we decided to embark on a path of sustainability with the aim of protecting the existing reality and to direct future choices towards the full respect of the environment and the social context.

The sustainability program started is characterized by an original meaning of durability, to tend to the continuous improvement of the company through a growing commitment and specific choices.

We have collected some important challenges, aware that it will not be the step size but the direction in which the company is aimed to obtain sustainable development and sustainable.new-green-revolution

This year we have focused our efforts in reducing pollution, changing way of producing energy.

We installed a new photovoltaic system capacity of approximately 40kw that will allow us to reduce each year 20,000 kg of CO2 emissions in the environment and very soon we will conclude the work by installing a heat pump that will reduce the use of renewable heat currently used for approximately 70%.

From 1 January 2015 Perticaia, will energetically totally independent
